We built the engine we wished existed.
Runstream was born from a simple frustration: we were building an AI startup, using every tool available, and still couldn't ship fast enough. So we built the system that changed everything — and now we're giving it to every founder.
The Origin
From neighbors to
co-founders.
In early 2024, two neighbors struck up a friendship over a shared obsession: using AI to build software differently. Ed Shadi, a former Head of Engineering at Typeform who'd been an early adopter of every AI coding tool since launch. Sherif Mahlouf, with 12 years of agency and consultancy experience who knew exactly where traditional delivery models break.
By April 2024, the friendship became a company. They went all in — working side-by-side, literally next door, building full-time every single day. They used Cursor, Claude Code, Copilot — everything available. And they still hit the same wall every team hits.
The tools were fast. But the process was slow. Context evaporated between product decisions and engineering execution. Features shipped that didn't match what customers needed. Coordination consumed more time than building.
So they built something different. An AI-powered execution engine designed to keep context alive from first customer signal to final pull request — running parallel streams that compress weeks into days.
